THE LEGGAT STORY
A story that began a century ago.
With a dream and a $3,000 loan from his mother, Roy Leggat left the family farm and opened his first automobile dealership in 1922, creating the foundation for what has become Leggat Auto Group today – a family-owned business that remains committed to serving their customers and communities.
From selling Ruggles trucks at the first Leggat dealership in Hamilton, Ontario to providing a vast selection of automobile brands and styles to meet the needs of customers’ lifestyles today, one thing has remained constant – an unwavering commitment to deliver an exceptional experience for our customers.
We know the process of purchasing a vehicle can be daunting, so our approach is simple…we listen to our customers to deliver what they need. We treat them like family; after all, it’s our sense of family that has been the foundation of our business for the last one hundred years.
And while the automobile industry has certainly evolved since that time, so have we. Through dealership growth across Southern Ontario, we have been able to serve more customers and impact more communities through our Leggat Care Foundation – our commitment to strengthening the places where we live, work, and raise our families.
